Zeta Gao’s fashion images blur the line between painting and photography, literally and metaphorically. These images don’t reflect reality as photographs often do.  She draws on her dreams, which she writes down every morning, to create a surreal narrative of color, fantasy and hidden desires. She hides her subjects under layers of paint or exaggerated brush strokes of light to highlight the surface attributes of the body, creating an alternate fantastical dream world where no one and nothing follows the rules.
